FEC LISTS 16 PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATES ON GENERAL ELECTION BALLOTS

WASHINGTON – The names of 16 Presidential candidates will appear on at least one state general election ballot on November 7, 2000. Eight of these candidates will appear on 10 or more state ballots, according to the Federal Election Commission.

According to an FEC survey of state election offices, voters in Colorado, Florida, Rhode Island, Vermont and Washington will have the most presidential choices - 10. The following shows the number of nominees on each state ballot (the District of Columbia and Puerto Rico*.)
